H.E. Qais Bin Mohammed Al Yousef
Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry
His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, has been elected as the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) for the term of 2018-2022. OCCI, which was established by Royal Decree in 1973, is a key pillar for enhancing the economic development plans in the Sultanate and seeks to develop the Omani private sector and make it a partner in sustainable economic development. OCCI is the representative of the private sector in the local and international events and in all decision of interest for the sector. It is keen on developing the private sector using the available resources and potentials.
Qais is also a member of many governmental committees including Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority of Manpower Register, Member of the steering committee for Oman Vision 2040, Member of the Consultancy Board for the GCC Supreme Council, Member of the Research Council (BOD), Member of the Public Authority for SME Development, Member of the Public Authority for Social Insurance, Member of the Public Authority for Charitable Organization, Member of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking. He is also a member of a number of Arab Chambers of Commerce and Industry Unions and joint chambers with foreign countries.
Qais is the CEO of Al Yousef Group and member of the board of directors of a number of Omani joint stock companies. H.E. is a holder of Masters degree in Business Management from Stanford University (Graduate School of Business) U.S.A and a Bachelor Degree from Williams College, U.S.A. He attended a number of specialized courses in business administration from London Business School, Harvard Business School and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Qais was conferred a number of awards including Excellent Businessman Award for 2013 by Alam al Iqtisad Wa al Aamal magazine, Businessman of the Year Buz Award 2009 by National Training Institute in cooperation with KPMG.
